Meet the Summit Veterinary Surgery Team

Two Surgeons, Two Perspectives, One Goal

Dr. Bestic and Dr. Estrin bring two different paths into surgery together under one roof, one rooted in primary care and one in emergency medicine. Together, they combine a grounded understanding of what pet owners and referring veterinarians need, giving every patient the benefit of both perspectives.

Dr. Daniel Bestic

Dr. Daniel Bestic graduated in the top 10% of his class from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. He began his career at Austintown Veterinary Clinic, where he spent his first four years developing his clinical and surgical skills under the mentorship of the late Dr. Ken Baker. During this time, Dr. Bestic gained extensive hands-on experience with a wide variety of surgical cases while learning from an exceptional group of clinicians.

With more than 20 years of veterinary surgical experience, Dr. Bestic has developed the skills and experience to provide advanced and complicated surgical care to patients in areas of Northeast Ohio where access to a surgical specialist may be limited or unaffordable. He is excited to bring his experience, passion for surgery, and commitment to lifelong learning to Summit Veterinary Surgery and to provide another surgical option for the pets and families of Northeast Ohio.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Bestic has a passion for soccer and currently serves as the Junior Academy Director at Hudson United Soccer Club. He lives in Hudson with his wife, Michelle, a pediatric toxicologist at Akron Children’s Hospital; their four children, Sam, Vivian, Tyler, and Cole; two cats, Scooter and Gracie; and their dog, Kevin.
